Fire drill and fire fighting.

On this day we went to burn bullrush at the boys house dam. This was a good learning experience to what to do and when to do it. There is a lot of preparation that goes into a planned fire. There must be a structured procedure. All of the people must have a job in this operation.  A plan must be in place from where you are going to burn, how many fire fighter vehicles, how many people are going and what this people are going to do, the right equipment and all that the stuff is checked for workability.

When fighting a fire there must be a very good communication base between the fire marshal and the people fighting the fire. The correct safety equipment must be worn at all times. This equipment consists of the following: wool shirt, jacket, long pants, safety boots, gas mask and a face cover.
