My last week in the kitchen.

Monday and Tuesday we spent the day in class and we learned about food contamination and nutrition. For the rest of the week it was normal nothing spectacular happened. On Thursday I finished with my Chef course.

My working weekend in the kitchen.

I was very excited about working in the kitchen for the weekend. On Friday the 10th of June it started. I made like a million pancakes for welcoming. When I was done with that I helped Chef William with the preparations for Meat-lovers. We made Peri Peri chicken and we reheated all the food and meat we made the previous day. At 6pm we started and we 'braaied' all the meat and at 10pm we were finished and all the guests had left.
Saturday Juan Alon and myself made a Swiss roll but we added to much flour and then it was more like a cookie roll but still it was nice. For the rest of the day I made wild rice, chicken stir fry and steak.
Sunday I made potato mash I learned to make a omelet, pizza and I helped Lilandi to make student dinner.               

My second week in the kitchen.

On the 6th of June I wrote my big final exam on F&B and for the rest of the day Chef Edward gave me off. For the rest of the week the restaurant was very still and we had nothing to do so for the rest of the week the most we did cleaning. The highlight of the week was to make student lunch. It consisted of steak egg and chips, believe me the students were very happy with it. Other nice things I made was Butternut soup for the Guesthouse and Beef roast's.

First week in Cheffing

Finally Chef course the one I have been waiting for since I have started at Sondela. On Monday the 30th of May I started my Skills course in Chef. I was taken by Chef William and he showed me the basic skills that I needed to go around in the main kitchen. He showed me how to cut up a chicken in portions and then how to spice chicken with all the different spices and oils. Throughout the week I learned all the ways of the kitchen and I cooked all different types of food like beef, venison, chicken, fish and much more.
